Our Board of Supervisors is one of three jurisdictions to vote on and urgency ordinance. On Tuesday, November 19 we held a special Board of Supervisors meeting and adopted an urgency ordinance implementing tenant eviction protections and limiting large rental rate increases - effective immediately and in anticipation of the new state law, Assembly Bill 1482.

AB 1482 is a state law that provides protections against some evictions without "just cause" and affords relocation assistance in cases of "no fault just cause" evictions. This law will go into effect on January 1, 2020.
