Board Highlights: Flamethrowers, "Removal Defense Legal Services" and More...
I want to share with you some highlights from September 4th County of San Mateo – Government Board Meeting:
- Approval of an ordinance to prohibit the use, possession, sale, or offer for sale of flamethrowers in unincorporated San Mateo County.
- Adopted a resolution authorizing a one-time grant of Measure K funds not to exceed $74, 115 to LifeMoves, the leading provider of shelter housing and supportive services in San Mateo County. The request for $74,115 will provide funding to finish the interior drywall and painting, stucco work and exterior paint at the Redwood Family House
- Adopted a resolution waiving the request for proposal process and authorizing an agreement with Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County to provide removal defense legal services supporting immigrant residents of San Mateo County for the term of September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019 in an amount not to exceed $764,750.
