I would like to introduce you to the first Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) graduates of North Fair Oaks!

Last night I had the honor to participate in the CERT graduation in North Fair Oaks taught for the first time in both English and Spanish.

I want to congratulate all 39 CERT graduates for successfully completing this inaugural 8-week course with over 24 hours of class. The goal of this program was to prepare North Fair Oaks volunteers to assist emergency service personnel during a disaster and for community members to become leaders in their neighborhoods - I am confident these 39 graduates are now ready to be our community leaders!

Thank you to our partners in this CERT training, the Office of Emergency Services and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and special thanks to the CERT instructors Jeff Norris and Sandra Firpo but most important thank you to the 39 graduates for stepping up to be a leader in our community. I am certain their leadership skills will inspire others!
