Supervisor Slocum Takes Office Hours on the Road to Menlo Park and will be oined by Mayor Peter Ohtaki

(Redwood City, CA) Menlo Park Mayor Peter Ohtaki will welcome and join San Mateo County Supervisor  Warren Slocum at the Supervisor’s ‘Office Hours’ in Menlo Park on September 4, 2013 from 5:30 – 7:30  p.m. at Cafe Zoё, 1929 Menalto Avenue.

“I am honored to be welcomed by Mayor Ohtaki and joined by him at the first “office hours” that I have  held in the City of Menlo Park,” said Slocum.

“As a lifelong resident of Menlo Park and a former member of the Menlo Park Fire District Board, Mayor  Ohtaki has a passion for all things Menlo Park and he cares deeply about the quality of life for the  people in the city. He will do whatever it takes to ensure that the city continues to flourish.” Slocum  represents the 4th  District that includes the communities of East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City  and the unincorporated communities of North Fair Oaks and Stanford Weekend Acres.

“Menlo Park, its neighboring cities and the County of San Mateo have a long history of working together  to resolve problems,” said Mayor Ohtaki. “We face significant challenges in tackling the improvements  to the infrastructure to prevent future flooding of San Francisquito Creek, the ongoing need to add  affordable housing stock in the County, and strategies to meet the stringent waste management targets.  I believe we are fortunate to have a leader like Warren Slocum as an advocate for the people of Menlo  Park; we can work together to find new approaches to these longstanding issues.”

Slocum complimented both the Mayor and the City saying, “Menlo Park is a wonderfully livable city with a certain small town charm. It’s a great place to raise a family and a great location for small business. It’s a tribute to your leadership and to your legacy.”

No appointments are required to meet with Supervisor Slocum or Mayor Ohtaki, but if desired, they can be made through Marci Dragun, Legislative Aide to Supervisor Slocum. Dragun can be reached at (650) 363-4570 or by email at mdragun@smcgov.org

Slocum continues to take his office hours on the road traveling to each of the communities in the district, visiting different venues, attending events, and will on occasion convene community meetings to discuss an issue of community concern. Dates, times and places will be publicly noticed on the Supervisor’s calendar on his website at http://tinyurl.com/le77wno, on the Board’s Press Calendar at http://tinyurl.com/lep6pf6, and promoted through press releases, community organizational networks and on Supervisor Slocum’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
